The schedule published in The Witness on 6 August is for emergency purposes only. There is no plan at this stage to re-introduce load-shedding. Eskom has demanded of the Municipality that it put a schedule in place so that if there is an emergency need for load to be shed, it will be done on the basis of a pre-determined schedule.
The Chamber was not consulted at all about this schedule. Members are asked, therefore, to direct any queries/complaints to sewdutt.nagasar@msunduzi.gov.zawith a copy to ceo@pcb.org.za. We will not respond to these copies, but monitor them so that if the revised schedule is detrimental to the interests of our members generally, we will take the matter up with the Municipality.
We have made our disappointment at the lack of consultation known to the senior municipal officials.
